We recently had two Friday nights when the YOBs ( Youth on Boats) were joined by some Castle Cove Cadets for some fun racing and visits from Olympic sailors James Peters and Micky Becket. Both went out on the water and joined in the racing in some very gusty conditions. The events were followed by the traditional and very popular YOB BBQs.

    Preparations for the Club's new pontoon

    After consultation with all the relevant WSC Committees and numerous external bodies, the club's new walk on pontoon was approved by the Trustees in 2024. Click on link to learn more.

  • Galley Cook job vacancy

    We are seeking a reliable and experienced Cook to run the galley from April to October on a fixed-term contract. The role involves 23 hours per week, with additional overtime for events.   • "My Portal" website change

    You will see that when you log on the My Portal option has vanished.  This is a system change for all clubs using SCM. There is now a new menu under you name which takes you to all the previous portal sections. It is easier to use once you know how to use it!!

    Mike Street who has been Rear Commodore Sailing is our new Commodore. We also have a new Hon Gen Sec, Daphne Samways. They are both off on their holidays so more news when the get back.

  • September Regatta

    The club once again ran an end of summer Regatta which included the IRC classes, a Squib Open Event and Dinghy racing over the weekend of the 14th and 15th  September. The weather was perfect and a good time was had by all.

  • Weymouth Regatta report .

    Weymouth Yacht Regatta 2024   The weather gods smiled, so that the event, kindly sponsored by PD Decorating South West,  G J Owens Electrical Contractors. and Poundbury Wealth Management, took place in perfect conditions in Weymouth Bay. Peter Bell  from Castle Cove did a splendid job as Race Officer, ably assisted by his team, directing the racing from Weymouth Sailing club's committee boat

  • And She's Off - RWYC Round Britain and Ireland 2-handed Race

    Kathy Claydon and co-skipper Phil Kirk will start from Plymouth in the RWYC Round Britain and Ireland 2-handed Race, on Sunday May 12th at 12:00. The course is Clockwise around UK, leaving every island and rock(except Rockall) to starboard. It is split into 4 legs, with three 48 hour stops in Galway, Lerwick and Blyth. You can follow the race on the free APP, Yellowbrick, choosing RWYC RB&I.

    WSC 2024 season begins with Youth on Boats

    After a weekend washout for the first races of the year, it was left to the young sailors to lead our club into the official 2024 sailing programme with the first YOBs evening on Friday the 12th of April. Good conditions with a 15 knot south westerly breeze meant a fun evening for all our young sailors and adult helpers. Three larks and Ollie in his new (to him) laser had 6 mini races to
