Cruising to Ringstead Goes Ahead Despite Races Cancelled
Although the annual Ringstead races and BBQ were cancelled on August B/H Sunday, there was still a healthy fleet of cruising boats making the trip across the bay. In a moderate South Easterly wind Double Vision, Merlot, Winters Maid, Solveig, Xanadu, Growling Cougar, Tilted and Moonshadow all had a cracking sail, whilst an ungainly looking mastless Crystella (waiting for new standing rigging before you ask!) rock and rolled to the anchorage under engine. Cruise in company round Portland Bill
The planned cruise in company to round Portland Bill at neaps on 18 August was abandoned at 08:30 as the easterly winds refused to abate and all decided that it was ill advised; an alternative was discussed. More »

The Cubies get their ladders!
An important part of the ongoing moorings Health and Safety programme this season has been to have custom-made brackets built in order to fix the requisite safety ladders to the improved Cubie pontoon.
